The Match Play is moving along well and heading into the quarter finals on the A side. The B side is heating up!A quick reminder to those with matches to be played, STAY ON SCHEDULE!. All members contact information is posted in the Men’s locker room.

Men’s night is Wednesday starting at 4:30pm, remember to call ahead so the Pro Shop can organize the 4-somes. Don’t forget there are great diner and drink specials after your round.

The Links at Quarry Oaks wintered very well.  Very little winter damage occurred on the greens in form of snow mold or desiccation. This was due to a good hardening off period in fall prior to snow fall along with a preventative snow mold fungicide application. Then we had a good blanket of snow to insulate the turf. Our golf course maintenance crew started work this past week preparing the course for play. Snow fence (put up in fall to trap snow) came down. Fallen trees and branches were cleaned up along edges of fairways.  Greens were brushed, cut, and rolled.  Fairways were also cut and a continuation of bunker edging work, started last fall, also continued. Hopefully the weather warms up for us and we have a good golf season.

We are starting something new at Quarry Oaks. We have enlisted our esteemed greens superintendent to educate the golfing public as to some of the issues/challenges/goings on around the golf course.
